best basic studio package for beginner photographer?

Buying a basic studio package this week. I have a Sony a200. Will be upgrading lens and camera later. I have read a lot of books lately and a lot say two or three light sources at first. No matter what I want to get a basic background stand, and just black and white backgrounds. But its the lights that I'm stuck on mainly... there is a lot of basic studio packages out there, and different sites to get them from, and i would like your impute on the best to go with. I said 600 just to start with this week... I plan on spending more each week. I just want to know the best to start with.

For a good studio flash that is american made go to http://www.alienbees.com/. I would buy one flash and a reflector to start. You can then add other lights down the road.
